Summer 2026 Education Faculty (Pooled)
Position Overview
The Department of Education is seeking Adjunct Faculty for the Summer 2026 semester to provide instruction for undergraduate and graduate level courses in the following areas:
- Elementary Education
- Professional Education

Requirements and Preferences
Minimum Experience/Education
- Master’s Degree or higher in Education or a closely related area, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours. All education must be documented from an appropriately accredited institution
- NC Teaching License
- Three years or more of teaching experience and related work experience
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Doctorate Degree in Education (Elementary Education, Middle Grades Education, Special Education, and Professional Education), with a minimum of 18 graduate hours
- Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level
- Previous experience teaching online
Required License or Certification
NC Teaching License
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Adjunct Faculty will:
- Prepare and teach all course materials and lessons for courses in Elementary Education and Professional Education
- Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, timelines, and approved syllabi
- Use evidence-based research in teaching
- Provide engaging and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes
- Suitably challenge, engage, serve and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect
- Complete grade books, mid-term and final grade submission, syllabi submission, learning assessments, final exam assessments and respond to student questions on a timely basis
- Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus
- Model professionalism and serve as a role model for students in the professional, social and civic areas
