Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Maintains standards for safety, reliability, efficiency and appearance for all Power Plants and directs the work of the Operating Engineers in all operations, maintenance and repair of the equipment.
• Provides training and leadership to the Operating Engineers for safety and equipment operation through encouragement of self-development and promotion of a culture of safety. The supervisor is responsible for evaluating operator adherence and compliance of all safety regulations.
• Schedules coverage for the Operating Engineers (Operators) and assigns plant operational areas work orders, tasks and duties to all Operators. Prepares weekly work schedules that must include scheduled overtime and time off requests. Reviews timesheets and attendance systems for accuracy and identifies and corrects errors through interfacing with the RBHS payroll dept.
• Diagnoses Power Plant equipment problems and coordinates startup/shutdown of operating equipment to ensure the safe installation and/or removal of equipment from operation without interruption of services provided to the university facilities

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in facility supervision or served in a lead, supervisory or managerial capacity.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25+ lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Power Plant/boiler room and outdoor environment. Moderate to noisy setting.
