Job Summary:
The Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking a Business Services Principal Professional (BSPP) to provide high-level, autonomous support to the Division Chief of Surgical Oncology for all clinical, educational, and research responsibilities. The BSPP manages operational, fiscal, and educational tasks in an independent manner with discretion, and interacts with both internal and external stakeholders as well as hospital partners. This position acts as a leader to personnel in executive/administrative support roles for the Division Chief and DAD and is considered a subject matter expert in administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities:
75% - Operations & Finance
- Supports the Division Chief of Surgical Oncology, including calendaring, coordinating all meetings, conference, and travel arrangements locally, nationally, and internationally, reconciling expenses in Concur, and developing agendas for faculty and leadership meetings.
- Coordinates Faculty Affairs related functions at the highest level within the division, including annual PRISM reviews, and oversight and coordination of the division "Promotions and Tenure" with the Principal Professional in Faculty Affairs.
- Manages Division Chief programs against other divisions and departmental programs, including assisting with management of annual division conferences, managing online events calendar and online conference rooms schedules.
- Further, this position is responsible for coordination of staffing, training, and workload as it relates to the Division Chief. This position has full work-lead responsibilities for full-time Business Support Specialists and Administrative Assistants within Surgery. This position will also coordinate division internal communications.
- With oversight from the Division Administrative Director, this position is responsible for the management, development, and reconciliation of budgets within the CU Medicine financial system for the Division of Surgical Oncology, to include funds and Administration funds.
- Coordinates the clinical schedule and activities of the Division Chief (SOM, UCH, affiliated hospitals and organizations, and referring physicians).
- Assists the Division Chief/ DAD in the preparation of educational programs at local, state, national, and international levels. Assists in the preparation and distribution of presentation materials.
- Coordinates faculty recruitment processes to include the creation and distribution of itineraries, scheduling, providing travel logistics, etc.
- Coordinates Division of Surgical Oncology events such as International Symposium, 5k run, Faculty/ Staff appreciation event. (meeting set-up, communications, catering, materials preparation, etc.).
- Collaborates with the DAD on special projects for the Administrative Division.
- Develops and maintains tracking processes for Surg Once administrative functions.
- Strategic Plan implementation: Collaborates on special tasks for the strategic plan and initiatives for the Division of Surgical Oncology.
25% - Training & Education
- Arranges, develops content for, and leads regular meetings with faculty/administrative support staff across the Division of Surgical Oncology and DOS.
- Acts as a leader and training resource for Division of Surgical Oncology colleagues in executive/administrative support roles and encourages best practices for executing the duties of those roles.
- Management of Division Outlook inbox, and divisional mail distribution.
- Act as a first point-of-contact for the Division of Surgical Oncology, Maintain supplies for the office. Process and generate maintenance requests.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, business administration, social sciences, healthcare administration, or a directly related field.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
- 3 - 5 years of experience providing high-level administrative support.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience providing high-level administrative support.
- Administrative support experience in an academic and/or healthcare environment.
- Experience with CU Systems (e.g., Marketplace, Concur, etc.).
- Experience working with CU Medicine, UCH and/or University of Colorado Denver policies, rules and regulations, and administrative structure.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $65,610 to $83,456
