Major Duties
Under general supervision, the Systems Administrator administers
and maintains the library's endpoint environment and systems
infrastructure using campus-supported endpoint management platforms
and related technologies to ensure the availability, reliability,
security, and performance of library computing resources through
proactive monitoring, systems optimization, and continuous
improvement of the library's computing environment. The incumbent
develops, implements, and maintains endpoint management solutions,
system configurations, security baselines, and automation while
providing technical support for library systems and services.
- Routine duties include the following: deployment and
maintenance of hardware/equipment and software; provide technical
support and implement system enhancements; implement security best
practices.
Applies systems administration knowledge to ensure the
availability, reliability, and security of systems.
Investigates and resolves system-related issues, such as data
corruption, connectivity problems, or performance degradation.
Plans, coordinates, tests, executes, and validates system
upgrades and ensures compatibility with new software versions or
hardware upgrades.

Qualifications
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two
years of relevant experience.
- Additional experience, which demonstrates acquired and
successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above, may be
substituted for the required education on a year-for-year
basis.
Experience working in an enterprise environment and/or working
with Extron devices is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Working Knowledge of operating systems , server administration
scripting languages, virtualization technologies and cloud
technologies, and related system administration concepts,
principles, and technologies.
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and software
issues and providing technical support.
- Strong organizational skills to plan, organize, and manage
multiple time sensitive assignments and smaller projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability
to present technical information to technically diverse audiences
in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate, monitor, and resolve
systems issues and design, develop, and implement systems
solutions.
- Proficiency in using applicable software, server, and system
technologies and programs.
- Skill in leading the work of others is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in higher education and library
policies, practices, data needs, and data privacy regulations is
preferred.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

- The anticipated HIRING RANGE is $6492 - $7027 per month,
dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary range for
this classification is: $6492 - $9458 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May
include evenings and weekends.
