- Base salary will be in the range $89,861 - $96,402 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6)
- Based at our vibrant St Lucia campus
About This Opportunity
The Credit Services Officer (CSO) plays a critical role in minimising bad debt exposure to the University by assessing creditworthiness and proactively managing and collecting aged debt. Success in this role requires building strong relationships with major clients and collaborating with internal stakeholders, including finance, academic, and research staff. Additionally, the CSO must report on collection activities and escalate potential credit risks to the Credit Services Team Leader.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conduct credit risk assessments and monitor credit exposure within approved limits.
- Manage and collect aged debt, including liaising with internal stakeholders and external debt collection agencies.
- Identify and report potential credit risks, doubtful debts, and recommend write-offs.
- Maintain accurate debtor records and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to maximise profitability and minimise Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

About You
- Degree (preferably in Business or Commerce) with extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
- Current active membership to the Australian Institute of Credit Management (AICM) and possess Certified Credit Executive (CCE) ticket or Diploma of Credit Risk Management (or be willing to obtain either within 12 months of commencing the position).
- Able to demonstrate extensive specialist expertise and effectiveness with credit control processes.
- Technical proficiency in the use of software applications, particularly MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Teams and Zoom
- Excellent interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience and skills in liaison and negotiation with staff at all levels, as well as external bodies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide recommendations, reports and communicate with clarity.
- Demonstrated high-level problem-solving skills and analytical ability including the ability to investigate, obtain and interpret information and make specific recommendations.
- A proven ability to be highly organised and self-managing, with the ability to meet tight deadlines, set realistic goals and establish work priorities with minimal direction or supervision.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check etc.
