Job Summary The Financial/Accounting Teacher at Victoria University delivers practical, industry‑focused training and assessment in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial services. The role supports students to build job‑ready skills through hands‑on, competency‑based learning aligned with VET and regulatory standards. This includes developing resources, maintaining industry‑relevant content, and creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment. As a teacher delivering in the Business & Legal Programs, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students both on campus and out in industry. You will be expected to develop and deliver engaging and innovative learning materials, assess student performance, and provide feedback and support to ensure student success.Position Key Duties:Planning, preparing and delivering of the lesson plan and assessment of student performance and learning activities in accordance with the departments assessment toolsFostering a working environment that is respectful to all students and staffEstablishing and maintaining a positive learning environmentMonitoring student progression and attendance throughout their learning journey Contributing to the continuous improvement for the course by being involved with the design, development and validation of its training and assessment resources.Maintaining accurate course and student records according to organisational and regulatory requirementsSalary: 93,315 per annum (pro rata) to $113,067 per annum (pro rata)Employment Type: Part time Fixed term, until 18 December 2026Hours: 22.8 hours per weekLocation: Footscray Nicholson Campus
For a detailed overview of the role’s duties and responsibilities, please refer to the (insert position title)About You:To be successful in this role, you will need: A completed TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40116 or TAE40110 Hold a relevant vocational/industry qualification at the level of the courses or above and have teaching experience either in a TAFE or an RTOYou must hold a valid E Class (employee) Working with children Check to be able to undertake this role or be willing to obtain one.Your excellent communication skills will be a key asset, along with your willingness to continually learn and develop as a professional trainer and assessor.The University is a Child Safe organisation.
