About the Opportunity
As a Health and Safety Partner for the Sciences Group, you’ll take on complex local and global challenges, using your skills and experience to drive meaningful change. Here’s how you’ll make it matter:
- Provide support and assistance to the Health and Safety Manager, in embedding a sustainable, positive and effective safety culture across the University.
- Undertake audits, inspections and walk throughs with clients, and where required supported by specialists and working with clients to develop and implement solutions to identified hazards and risks.
- Conduct health and safety incident investigations identifying root cause and learnings a well as developing and implementing solutions with clients.
- Build effective professional relationships and facilitate effective communication with clients and external stakeholders.
- Promote compliance with relevant legislation and University policies and procedures, including diversity and safety and exhibit good practice.

You will also have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Safety & Health and subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
Candidates must have full unrestricted Australian work rights and may be subject to a National criminal history check. Please note sponsorship is not available for this role.

This is a continuing opportunity based at our Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other campuses.
Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary HEW 7, base salary range $96,669.80 - $104,732.27 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package is in the range of $113,103.66 - $122,535.58
