Position Summary:
Job duties may include any or all of the following:
Research projects
Recruitment (meet participants, explain studies, explain informed consent)
Prepare incentives for participants
Data collection (interviews, surveys, observation, etc…)
Data entry (quantitative and qualitative)
Data management (coding, preparing results tables)
Publications
Preparation and formatting manuscript, edit, grammar, spell check, cross reference
Management of reference lists
Submission of paper through online submission system
Monitoring decision-making process
Assistance with resubmissions/edits
Conference presentations
Assistance with abstract submissions
Assistance with presentation slide preparation
Creation of posters for poster presentations
Ethics submissions
Preparation of documents (format, completing forms, preparing cover letters, consent forms)
Application collation
Database management
Curating and maintaining a database of education scholarship being undertaken in the Department of Pediatrics
Curating and maintaining a database of capacity building opportunities in education scholarship for members of the Department of Pediatrics
Research event planning
Assisting in the organization of poster and oral presentations for an ‘Education Scholarship Day’
Qualifications:
The suitable candidate must have knowledge of or experience in:
- Word processing, Microsoft word or other programs
- Power point
- Excel
- End note or other reference manager program
- Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
The following knowledge would be an asset:
- Qualitative data collection (including conducting and interviews, focus groups, observations and document analysis), and qualitative data management, secure storage and analysis
