Position Summary Information

• Job Description Summary:The VU Art Gallery is seeking an Art Gallery Assistant to join our team for the summer. You will focus on researching artwork and artists, updating our artwork database as well as administrative duties. You are highly organized, detail-orientated, efficient and self-motivated. You must be willing to take on projects both large and small with equal enthusiasm.Requirements:Ability to conduct research on individual artists, movements or works of art within the Collection.
• Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, artists, and the Villanova community.
• Write and edit label copy, press releases, catalogues and wall text.
• Update the database in a clear and consistent way.
• Broad knowledge of Art History a plus.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

Additional Information:Physical Demands Summary:Capable of lifting 25lbs.Wage Rate:$11.25 per hour
