Job Description:

The Department of Global Humanities at Norwich University invites applications for a position of adjunct in Spanish starting in the fall semester of 2024 (August 26, 2024--December 15, 2024). This is an in-person position on the Norwich University campus, in Northfield, Vermont.

The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching one or more sections of beginning Spanish (SP 121 and 122), with the possibility of additional courses at the intermediate and/or advanced levels. Adjunct faculty are expected to follow the provided curriculum, provide timely feedback on student work, and monitor student progress. Adjunct faculty members work on a part-time, course-by-course basis, with assignments dependent on pending student enrollment.

The position's renewal will be contingent on successful review and performance.

Requirements:

Minimum of a Master's degree in Spanish or a related field; native or near-native fluency in Spanish; experience teaching Spanish courses at the college level; demonstrated teaching excellence; expertise in current methodologies and culture-based instruction, including integration of technology in the classroom.
