The Research Focused Associate works under broad supervision, performing tasks independently to deliver against goals. They choose appropriate methods of work and plan and prioritise tasks. They are a subject matter expert and provide advice as the first point of contact for their expert area. They also resolve routine matters related to responsibilities and collaborate with others to resolve complex matters.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- conduct laboratory-based research activities with excellent WH&S practice, and to generate consistent and reproducible outcomes
- develop research methods and protocols
- drive the research projects’ progress and meet project milestones
- actively publish scientific outcomes in high quality journals
- prepare grant and ethics application
- student and research assistant mentoring/training/supervising
- effective communicate within the research team, and to regularly report progress to team leaders and stakeholders.
About you
- PhD in the Neurosciences, preferably with expertise in diseases of the motor neurons or Multiple Sclerosis.
- strong communication skills and self-motivated
- excellent in time management and task prioritising
- can work effectively in a team and independently
- capable of driving research progress
- efficient in designing and conducting research experiments.
