Join our dynamic Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Team at Murdoch University and play a vital role in fostering a culture of safety, injury management, and overall wellbeing. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make meaningful impact on the entire Murdoch University community, including workers (employees and contractors), students, and visitors.

Your opportunity to join us!

As our Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Specialist, you’ll be a key contributor to our Health Safety and Wellbeing team. Your mission will be to foster a culture of safety and wellbeing across our university community. You will strategies, implement and sustain WHS programs, risk management processes, and training initiatives. Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Lead WHS strategy and planning to ensure a safe and healthy environment,
  • Manage WHS risk to mitigate potential hazards and promote safety,
  • Development and deliver training and education programs for all stakeholders,
  • Oversee safety injury management and foster a culture of wellbeing,
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements and facilitate reporting; and,
  • Drive continuous improvement in WHS practices and initiatives.

What you’ll bring to this role

  • A qualification in occupational safety and health or relevant WHS knowledge with a willingness to undertake training.
  • 5+ years of experience in WHS within a large organisation.
  • 5+ years of experience in Safety and Injury management.
  • Proficiency in team management.
  • Proven track record in crafting Health, Safety, and Wellbeing procedures.
  • HSW experience dealing with hazardous chemical is desirable.
