The role/Te mahi
We are seeking an outstanding and highly organised Kaiwhakahaere Tari/Administrator to provide administrative services to the Coastal People Southern Skies (CPSS) Centre of Research Excellence, within the Research Division.
CPSS is a national Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) hosted by the University of Otago, involving researchers from universities, wānanga, charities and communities across Aotearoa.
The vision of CPSS is flourishing wellness (mauri ora) of coastal communities. The mission of CPSS is to connect, understand and restore coastal ecosystems of Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific through transformative research, local action and by unlocking potential through new pathways to learning.

Key tasks of the role include:
• Providing administration support to the centre’s directors and managers.
• Managing generic emails.
• Servicing committees.
• Overseeing financial transactions/reconciliations/funding awards.
• Contributing to annual reporting data collection.
• Communication (including newsletters).
• Maintaining the website.
• Planning and logistics for travel and wānanga.
Your skills and experience
Successful candidates will have outgoing and positive dispositions and be able to work well in a team (both local and across Aotearoa).
You will also:
• Have proven experience in a busy front-facing role where high levels of customer service delivery and confidentiality are expected.
• Show proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
• Be someone who pays close attention to detail.
• Have excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Be prepared to learn new skills.

Divisional Services and Administration are a group of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to all of the University’s internal and external customers.

This is a full time (37.5 hours), permanent position, located in Dunedin.
The appointments range for this role is $65,281 to $69,468. Top of Range $74,947.
You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this position.
This role also supports the implementation of the Māori Strategic Framework activities, the University’s commitment to the success of Māori students and staff and contribute to a culture of whakawhanaungatanga in our workplaces.
