Summary/Objective
The Academic Resource Center Coordinator leads student support initiatives for the Springfield campus students. The coordinator advises potential healthcare students and guides them through the admission and onboarding process. In collaboration with campus and college leadership, the coordinator will plan activities for student engagement for potential and current students.
Essential Job Duties
- Advise potential SBU Springfield students
- Lead initiatives to promote campus engagement for prospective and current students
- Develop and maintain relationships with academic institutions and organizations for recruitment, community engagement, and career services
- Represent the university at community engagement and recruiting events
- Develop, maintain, and lead information sessions for prospective and current students
- Develop and host new student orientation activities
- Work collaboratively with admissions staff in recruiting and admission efforts
- Work collaboratively with program leadership to ensure information regarding program requirements and processes are current and accurate
- Serve as a mentor to faculty for student advisement and coordinate communication of advising updates
- Maintain current and accurate advising records and assist in the transition of files from admissions to programs
- Participate in the collection of required documentation for regulatory and accrediting guidelines
- Maintain expertise in advising best practice through professional development opportunities
- Comply with University guidelines regarding faculty duties and requirements
- Participate in academic processions and wear academic regalia as required
- Attend and participate in college meetings
- Plan, assist, and/or attend college and department led events such as award ceremonies, focus groups, community sponsored events, community service events, etc.
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Set an example of a Christian lifestyle for students, staff and faculty
- Commitment and adherence to Southwest Baptist University’s Principles and Expectations

Position Requirements
Required
- Bachelors Degree in healthcare
Preferred
- Masters Degree in healthcare
- Experience working with students in an academic setting
- Healthcare degree in nursing or radiography
Work Environment
- Must be able to work in a typical office environment.
Physical Abilities
- Frequently educates students in an office or group setting and is able to communicate accurate information and ideas in these situations.
- Occasionally moves about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
