Faculty position to teach on the Spartanburg campus.
USC Upstate is seeking an applicant for a Professional or Tenure Track faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate criminal justice courses. The selected candidate will teach a 4-4 load (Assistant Professor) or a 5-5 load (Teaching Assistant Professor) that includes Introduction to Criminal Justice, Research Methods, lower- and upper-level courses as well as graduate classes in Advanced Research Methods, and special topics. The selected candidate will teach in addition to in person courses, online courses either asynchronously or in a hybrid format. The selected candidate is expected to maintain an active research agenda and/or engage in service to the department, college, and university.

The Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Women's and Gender Studies invites qualified candidates to submit applications for Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice (tenure-track) or Teaching Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) of Criminal Justice.
Candidates for the Teaching Assistant Professor position must demonstrate a record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and/or service. Candidates for Assistant Professor position must demonstrate a record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
This is a 9-month, tenure-track position with a start date of August 16, 2027, that serves both in-person and online degree programs.
A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a closely-related field is required by the start date of the appointment. ABD candidates with a completion date by August 15, 2027 are welcome to apply. A successful background check is required.
