Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Social Work programs based on qualifications.
- Oversee new developments and/or lead program outreach for the Social Work program. We anticipate this position to have unique leadership or administrative service responsibilities to the program, depending upon experience.
- Be an essential team member to the program and supporter of student success.
- Engage in teaching innovations, high-quality instruction, and oversee student projects and fieldwork as needed.
- Participate in related service to the Program, College, and Campus.
- This position has opportunities for engagement in research, though it is not a required component of these teaching faculty positions.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Social Work (or related field) or a doctorate degree in addition to an MSW Degree from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience teaching at the university level, demonstration of excellent communication and interpersonal skills, applied experience specific to Social Work, and a strong commitment to student success.
- Candidates who are ABD will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong academic leadership or other faculty administrative experience with interests and abilities to teach and serve as a program leader.
- Licensed as LCSW with strong skills in teaching and mentorship.
- A breadth of teaching and social work experience covering an array of core and elective course topics.

Florida State University Panama City offers nationally accredited Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in Social Work (BSW, MSW) in conjunction with the FSU College of Social Work. FSU has the oldest, most established, and highest ranked Social Work academic programs in the State of Florida. The FSU BSW and MSW programs provide students undergraduate and graduate coursework, internship, and field experiences to support their entry into social work careers or advancement in clinical social work settings. The FSU programs train students to work directly with individuals, families, and communities. FSU Social Work courses emphasize strategies for providing therapeutic services, evaluating social work interventions, and engaging in clinical services across a variety of populations (e.g., schools, criminal justice, child welfare).
