NZUWI Faculty Recruitment

The University of Waikato Joint Institute at Zhejiang University City College (NZUWI) is located in Hangzhou, one of China’s most environmentally friendly large cities. NZUWI was officially approved by the Ministry of Education in September 2016 and jointly established by Zhejiang University City College (ZUCC) and the University of Waikato (UW). With full collaboration between UW and ZUCC, NZUWI offers bachelor’s degrees in three disciplines: Finance, Exhibition Economics and Management (Media Design), and Industrial Design (Interface Design). NZUWI enrolls 240 freshman students every year and maintains a student population of approximately 1000 students. As an international, English-medium tertiary institution, NZUWI’s academic staff is commensurately international. The institute is currently recruiting teaching fellows, senior lecturers, and lecturers in its undergraduate Media and Interface Design programs.

Teaching Fellow, Senior Lecturer, Lecturers (Media Design and Interface Design Program)

Position Description:

• Computer Science – Design and teach courses in Computer Science for Interface Design / Industrial Design students, including fundamentals of programming and Object Oriented programming (C# and Java), data structures and algorithms, internet technologies (HTML, CSS and fundamentals of networking), web application development with JavaScript, PHP and MySQL, mobile applications, User Experience Design and human/computer interfaces, etc.

Requirements:

• Ph. D. in Interactive Design (a master’s degree in Interactive Design and at least three years of experience teaching in English at the university level is acceptable) OR
• Ph.D. in Computer Science
• Minimum of three (3) years studying and/or working in a native English-speaking country for all nationalities

All positions involve participation in the full range of faculty responsibilities, including maintaining office hours, attending meetings, scholarly research and its related activities, as well as organizing and participating in university-related activities.
