What you would be doing
The Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London is a world leader in research, education, and innovation. As a teaching fellow, you will contribute directly to chemical engineering teaching, as part of a team currently consisting of 7 teaching fellows and 46 academic staff, educating our cohort of ~600 undergraduate and ~150 taught postgraduate students. These duties will involve direct contributions to lectures, tutorials, practical, coursework organisation, demonstration, assessment, and feedback, as and when appropriate.
What we are looking for
We are seeking exceptional chemical engineering educators, who: Have an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering; Have a PhD in a related discipline, or equivalent industrial experience; Are capable, confident and articulate communicators and teachers; Can demonstrate a track record of teaching in chemical engineering in higher education, or delivering training in an industrial setting, at the highest standards; Have a broad and deep knowledge of core chemical engineering subjects; Can demonstrate an ability to take initiative, prioritise efficiently and work autonomously.
We encourage applicants with expertise in one or more of the following topics: process safety, reaction engineering, chemical engineering design, nuclear chemical engineering or multiphase transport processes, but this is not an essential requirement.
