Essential Job Duties:
At the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), we don't just teach-we redefine the future of animal health. You will occupy a pivotal role at the intersection of the Office of Professional Education and Admissions (OPEA) and the Department of Clinical Sciences. As a primary engine behind our world-class DVM program, you are the thread that connects a prospective student's first discovery to their graduation as a leader in the field.
Your Impact at the CVM:
- Strategic Problem Solver: Step into a role defined by autonomy. You are empowered to identify technical or research bottlenecks and architect the strategic solutions required to keep our programs at the cutting edge.
- Data & Research Intelligence: Go beyond simple administration. You will leverage advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Suite to perform complex literature searches, execute sophisticated data manipulations, and manage the high-level spreadsheets that inform our departmental decisions.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as a vital ambassador for the College. You will build and sustain professional networks across university faculty, state agencies, and external vendors, ensuring our collaborative ecosystem thrives.
- Programmatic Leadership: Mentor the next generation by supervising student performance and providing the organizational backbone for high-impact outreach initiatives, including the "Perfect Pet" program and our essential shelter partnerships.
- Clinical Command: Thrive in a dynamic, high-energy environment. This role requires the physical agility to lead within a clinical/research setting, including the ability to lift up to 60 lbs frequently and up to 90 lbs as needed to support our patients and programs.

Minimum Experience/Education:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Some positions may require compliance with current Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience performing complex data management, analysis, or research tasks using Microsoft Office tools, including advanced spreadsheet functions and literature searches.
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders, such as faculty, external partners, agencies, or vendors, to support programmatic or organizational initiatives.
- Proven ability to coordinate or support programs, projects, or outreach initiatives, including organizing activities and supervising or guiding student participation.
- Experience working in a clinical, research, or academic environment, with familiarity in areas such as veterinary clinical pathology, microbiology, parasitology, or medical terminology.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Required license or certification:
- A valid NC driver's license is required for this position and must be maintained as a condition of employment within 30 days of hire.
