The Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge is seeking a Teaching Office Coordinator to play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding administrative support across our undergraduate programme.
About the Role
The Teaching Office Coordinator position within our academic administration team is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of key processes that underpin undergraduate teaching and learning. You will lead on core administrative functions such as organising course material, maintaining digital system and content, supporting examinations and coursework, managing payments through the Cambridge Casual Workers System, website and mailing list updates, and act as a line manager to administrative staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing complex administrative processes for taught programmes.
- Coordinating teaching support activities, including assessment arrangements.
- Organisation, setup and coordination of the CaMPUS summer internship scheme.
- Overseeing financial administration related to teaching and learning.
- Acting as secretary to committees, preparing agendas, minutes, and reports.
- Maintaining accurate records, conducting data analysis and preparating reports to aid in the strategic development of courses.
- Driving process improvements within the Department.

About You
We are looking for a highly motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment. You will have:
- Experience in Higher Education/complex administrative roles.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Line Management experience.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence with data systems.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Experience of managing budgets and familiarity with student information systems would be an advantage.

Limited funding: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
