Teaching Specialist
Semester dates: 1/8/2026 - 5/24/2026
Responsibilities
- Assisting during active learning activities during class sessions and otherwise participating in in-class instruction
- Assistance with instructional activities on field trips; holding office hours and review sessions to support student learning
- Grading of student work and record-keeping of student grades
- Attend course staff meetings
- Responding to questions received electronically, such as through email and Canvas
- Performing occasional other tasks such as helping maintain the course website.
Qualifications
Required qualifications
- Advanced degree in biology or related and knowledge of plant physiology are considered in the selection process.
- Need to be able to speak clearly, explain science concepts well, write well, relate to students, faculty, and staff.
Preferred
Previous TA or teaching experience.

Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $6,790 lump sum for semester ; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
