Continuous P/A Instructional Positions

Duties/Responsibilities: These positions are contingent upon student enrollment, performance, and availability of funding.

  • Teach graduate and/or undergraduate students in assigned course(s) or applied lessons.
  • Hold office hours to assist and advise students.
  • Participate in relevant departmental meetings and/or other service.

Lecturers: Job Code 9753I

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, performer’s certificate or substantial documented professional achievement in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in a specified field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in a relevant field by date of appointment.
  • Teaching experience at the college level in relevant area of discipline, evidence of interest and success in teaching.
  • Performance experience with a nationally known ensemble is preferred for positions teaching individual instrumental lessons.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $41,600 - $99,999 ; depending on education/qualifications/experience.

  • Classroom and Ensemble Teaching Specialists and Lecturers are compensated at a per-credit basis that varies between $2,000 and $3,000.
  • Applied Teaching Specialists and Lecturers are compensated at a per-hour/unit basis. One hour can include a lesson, studio class, or chamber ensemble.
  • Compensation for one hour varies between $100 and $150/hour.
  • Applied Lessons are compensated per unit (hourly rate x 15 lessons) and may vary between $1,500 and $2,250
