The Technical Assistant (Casual) provides operational and technical support to ensure the effective day-to-day functioning of simulation teaching and learning environments within the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
Operating under general supervision and established procedures, the role contributes to the preparation, maintenance and pack-down of simulation facilities, equipment and learning resources. The position supports the delivery of high-quality teaching activities through the application of technical skills, attention to detail and a strong service orientation.

Experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a structured, service-oriented team environment
- Proven capacity to complete operational tasks accurately and within required timeframes
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and confidence operating equipment and associated technologies
- Sound problem-solving skills within established procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Eligibility requirements
- Completion of: A relevant trades certificate or Certificate III; or Year 12 or Certificate II with relevant work experience; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Desirable qualities
- Knowledge of clinical equipment and healthcare consumables
- Experience supporting simulation-based education or similar technical environments
- Experience in roles requiring manual dexterity and technical precision
Special requirements
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Capacity to undertake manual handling and physically active duties as required
