Technical Director – Immunohistochemistry Research Laboratory
Position Overview
The Technical Director will oversee all technical aspects of the IHC Core Lab, including daily operations, assay development, quality control, and implementation of new protocols. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with immunohistochemistry, strong technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with a wide range of clinical, research, and academic investigators. Experience with automated IHC and ISH platforms is particularly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day technical operations of the Immunohistochemistry Research Core Lab.
- Develop, optimize, and validate IHC and ISH protocols.
- Establish and maintain high standards for quality assurance, reagent management, and instrument performance.
- Work closely with researchers, clinicians, and trainees to coordinate project workflows and ensure high-quality sample processing.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation on experiment design and staining methodology.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
- Train and supervise technical staff, students, and trainees involved with IHC-related projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- PhD in a relevant biomedical or life sciences discipline OR significant laboratory experience with immunohistochemistry.
- Strong technical knowledge of IHC methods, tissue handling, antigen retrieval, chromogenic and fluorescent detection, and protocol optimization.
- Demonstrated experience in managing laboratory operations or leading technical workflows.
