Job Description
The Laboratory Technician will support research activities. This position involves performing routine laboratory experiments, including work with primary mast cell cultures, as well as assisting with animal husbandry and genotyping. The technician will contribute to data collection and analysis, maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, and ensure smooth day-to-day lab operations. The role requires good communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a research environment.
Job Responsibilities
- 50% Assist with performing routine in vitro and in vivo experiments
- 20% Care, breeding and genotyping of mice
- 10% Data entry and maintenance of lab supplies and records
- 10% Maintain, calibrate and clean lab equipment
- 10% Other duties as assigned. Provide and maintain expertise in innovative solutions focused on the responsible stewardship of Penn Dental Medicine and its community experience.
Qualifications
- High School diploma and 1 to 2 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
