The Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health, are looking to recruit a Teaching Laboratory Technician with a knowledge of medical/clinical microbiology to provide technical support, as directed, to the teaching activities taking place within the Biomedical Postgraduate Teaching laboratories. The successful applicant will play a key role in the delivery of postgraduate practical classes and examinations, utilising the latest techniques, equipment and facilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, motivated and organised person, with some relevant experience of working in a teaching environment, preferably practical Microbiology and/or Biomedical Science, including molecular technology, to join the excellent Technical team providing support to their highly popular and successful programmes. There will be general housekeeping duties required to maintain the high standards associated with a medical teaching environment, as well as performing stock checks.

N.B. The role is to work part-time in a job share arrangement with an existing member of staff. There will one overlap day per week when both post holders will be on site to allow for handovers and support the job share arrangement effectively.

The role is a 2-year fixed-term position, pending the outcome of a review of the technical service provision across the Faculty.
