Department Information

The College of Computing was established in 1990 as the first such College at a public university and the second in the United States. Since that time, the college has grown into a world-class leader in research and education. The graduate CS program is currently ranked 6th and the undergraduate 5th nationally by U.S. News and World Report. The College consists of five Schools that provide specialized and general computing education to the entire campus. With over 16-degree programs, including its world-renowned online MS in CS, we believe the College to be the largest Computing unit in the United States and, as such, one of the largest producers of computationalist at all levels and of all demographic backgrounds. The College is a part of the Georgia Institute of Technology, a unit of the University System of Georgia and is primarily located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Summary

Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory to include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. Responsibilities

Additional Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and optimize advanced machine learning algorithms for pediatric healthcare applications.
• Process, manage, and analyze clinical datasets for the ACCORD project in compliance with all data sharing agreements.
• Maintain the Python code base and support the infrastructure associated with the group's research methods.
• Coordinate technical research efforts with clinical collaborators.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience
Up to two years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education

• Master of Science in Computer Science or a closely related computational field.

Preferred Experience

• Prior graduate-level research experience in machine learning and clinical datasets.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively on healthcare-focused AI research and managing complex clinical data structures.

Preferred Skill Set

• Advanced proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch).
• Demonstrated expertise in generative AI optimization, and their specific application to healthcare datasets.
• Pre-existing operational knowledge of the ACCORD project's technical architecture.

Proposed Salary

Pay Information:

FLSA status: Non-Exempt

Hourly Pay Range: $0 - $21.25

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge in the use of instrumentation and other lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to assigned lab. Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications is required.
