Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
Experienced in administrative duties related to the execution of a collegiate recreation competitive sports program (intramural sports & club sports).
- Administrative duties in the Competitive Sports office including:
- Student employee scheduling
- Create educational information for staff meetings
- Social Media Manager
- Intramural league management
- Creation, scheduling, advancement, bracket creation, etc.
- Opening/closing Competitive Sports Facilities including Recreational Field Complex and Shoreline Sports Complex
- Supervises intramural and club sports events
- Provide Competitive Sports Officials with feedback for various sports
- Serves as clinician for flag football and basketball officials training
- Desk receptionist for Competitive Sports Suite
- Scorekeeper for intramural sport games
- Manages check-in/out window at Recreational Field Complex and Shoreline Sports Complex
- Assists Competitive Sports Supervisor with everyday tasks
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
- Supervisory or related transferable skills
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience working in collegiate recreation
- Student personnel supervision at the collegiate level
- Sports based programming experience
- American Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED Certification
Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:
The Department of Campus Recreation organizes and administers a variety of structured and self-directed recreational services that enhance the overall wellness of the university community. Our primary goal is to provide quality recreational experiences directed toward positive change in the physical, cognitive and social domains of the university community thus enhancing the overall educational experience. This goal is accomplished by offering a wide variety of recreational activities, conducting educational workshops and providing professional training. The Department of Campus Recreation provides a multi-faceted program, which includes: Group Exercise/Fitness Programs, Competitive Sports (Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs) Seahawk Adventure Programs, Aquatics, and Special Events. Campus Recreation at UNCW takes a "something for everyone" approach to programming.

Hours Per Week: 10-20 hours

Anticipated Hiring Range: $12.00 - $15.00 / hour, depending on experience
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines.
