Temporary Lab Assistant
Essential Job Duties
Duties Include: RNA extraction; assistance with plant RNA collection, RNA library preparation; plant care; dishwashing; washing plant material; lab upkeep and organization.
Schedule: 35-40 hrs per week, M-F 9-5, occasionally weekends in lieu of a weekday.
This Temporary Research Technician position is a “hands on” position which requires on site work only.
Minimum Experience/Education
Combination of training and experience required to perform the duties
Department Required Skills
- Lab experience with sterile technique
- Experience working with plants
- Possess an understanding transcriptional regulation and associated experiments for evaluation of changes in transcriptional regulation
- Biochemistry training
- Attention to detail
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Biochemistry Degree
- Previous supervision experience
- Experience with RNA extraction
