Position Description
This temporary summer position assists in performing all phases of interior and exterior painting on campus buildings, including preparation of surfaces, application of coatings, and maintenance of equipment.
Duties may include:
- Clean and prepare all surfaces before painting and perform any needed surface repairs.
- Prepare and repair surfaces via pressure washing, caulking, and patching.
- Apply appropriate primers, paints, sealers, and other finishes as needed.
- Safely operate scaffold, lifts, and swing stage equipment.
- Training will be provided as needed.
- The position is estimated to start on June 1, 2026, and ends on August 28, 2026.
Qualifications
- Experience as a painter with an understanding for surface preparation and product application; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Ability to lift or otherwise move up to 50 pounds. Work at heights up to 150 feet.

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $24.75 per hour.
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
