Temporary Research Assistant
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the department of Pediatrics at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of the research assistant position is to support research on the feasibility of DNA sequencing – based newborn Screening protocol.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Recruiting newborn babies to participate in the Begin NGS project.
- Obtaining research consent from the mothers of the newborns.
- Reporting result of the testing.
- Entering data for positively testing babies in RedCap.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in biology or graduate degree in genetic counseling.
City: New Brunswick
State: NJ
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements.
- Work Environment: Laboratory environment; moderate noise.
Salary: A range of $35-45/hour
