The School of Kinesiology at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) invites applications for a tenure-line faculty position at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor, in the area of social-behavioral science of physical activity. Successful candidates will join a vibrant and collaborative faculty dedicated to excellence in research, teaching, and service. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: physical activity behavior change, psychosocial and motivational determinants of physical activity, intervention development and evaluation, technology-enabled physical activity promotion, social or community influences, policy and environmental approaches, health coaching, and physical activity across multiple populations and settings.
Candidates for this faculty position will be expected to maintain a robust research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in our applied exercise science program, and have research expertise appropriate for effectively mentoring trainees at the undergraduate, doctoral, and/or post-doctoral levels.
Requirements include a doctoral degree in kinesiology or a related field, and, appropriate for their rank, experience mentoring and teaching undergraduate and graduate students, publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research, engagement in service, and the ability to seek and secure external funding. Candidates should demonstrate their contributions to a positive workplace culture aligned with our school’s core values.
