"Tenure-line Faculty Position in Sport Economics (Open Rank)"

The School of Kinesiology at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) invites applications for tenure-line faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor in the areas of sport economics. Successful candidates will join a vibrant and collaborative faculty dedicated to excellence in research, teaching, and service. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: sport-anchored development strategies, professional and collegiate sports, venue financing, business analytics for sports, industrial organization/antitrust economics, and player analytics.

Candidates for these open faculty positions will be expected to maintain a robust research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in our sport management program, and have research expertise appropriate for effectively mentoring trainees at the undergraduate, doctoral, and/or post-doctoral levels.

Requirements include a doctoral degree in Sport Management, Business, Economics, or a related field, and, appropriate for their rank, experience mentoring and teaching undergraduate and graduate students, publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research, engagement in service, and the ability to seek and secure external funding. Candidates should demonstrate their contributions to a positive workplace culture aligned with our school’s core values.
