The Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology & Neuroscience at LSU Health Shreveport invites applications for full-time, tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
Under the leadership of the new chair, Dr. Jiliang Zhou, the department is undergoing rapid expansion, supported by strong institutional investment in research. We seek outstanding candidates to establish innovative, extramurally funded research programs, with particular emphasis on cancer biology, neuroscience and cardiovascular biology. Our faculty conduct cutting-edge research across a broad spectrum of areas, including neuropharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, neuroscience, toxicology, drug addiction, drug discovery for neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, cancer, and space medicine.
We are particularly interested in investigators with research programs focused on cancer pharmacology and therapeutic development, as well as cancer-associated cardiovascular or neurobiological complications. Applicants with broader expertise in neuroscience, cardiovascular biology, or related disciplines are also encouraged to apply. Candidates employing cutting-edge approaches (e.g., single-cell omics, spatial biology, advanced in vivo and in vitro models, or computational methods) are strongly encouraged. Applicants with NIH K99/R00 awards or current or pending R01-level funding will be especially competitive.

Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in pharmacology or a related biomedical field, have a minimum of two years of postdoctoral training, and demonstrate a strong record of research productivity with a clear trajectory toward independent funding.
