Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Neuroscience & Behavioral Disorders

Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Neuroscience & Behavioral Disorders at the Duke-NUS Medical School (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor)

The Duke-NUS Medical School is accepting applications for tenure-track assistant, associate, and full professor positions in the Neuroscience and Behavioral Disorders (NBD) program. The NBD program seeks faculty members at all ranks who specialize in translational research that significantly advances the understanding of the neurophysiological and/or genetic basis of psychiatric disorders and mental health. The program is also interested in novel cell and animal models of psychiatric dysfunction. Candidates with a strong track record of basic and translational research in psychiatric or behavioral disorders, including genetics, animal models of psychiatric dysfunction, and preclinical studies focused on developing innovative treatments, are encouraged to apply. The primary criterion for faculty appointment is evidence of a high level of accomplishment as a researcher whose expertise complements and extends the strengths of the NBD program. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The recruitment package includes full salary funding from the Duke-NUS Medical School, generous startup research funds, and office and laboratory space. Successful candidates will be expected to build collaborative and productive research teams and secure competitive grants to sustain their research in the long term.

Interested candidates should email a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and research statement to gmsbx191@nus.edu.sg. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Those applying for the assistant or associate professor position must provide three letters of reference in support of their application.

For more information about these positions, interested candidates may contact Associate Professor Shawn Je at shawn.je@duke-nus.edu.sg.

We are committed to diversity and encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds. Duke-NUS Medical School is an equal-opportunity employer.

The Duke-National University of Singapore Medical School (Duke-NUS) is unique in bringing post-baccalaureate, research-intensive medical education to Asia. A truly global partnership, it combines the expertise and resources of two leading universities: the National University of Singapore and Duke University, North Carolina, USA. Duke-NUS has established five Signature Research Programs (SRPs) to improve the standard and quality of healthcare and develop new and better strategies to treat disease. The NBD Program focuses on understanding the development and function of the nervous system and the relationship of neural mechanisms in model systems to human neurological and psychiatric disorders. Faculty research interests range from neuronal development and differentiation to brain imaging, perception, and behavior. The NBD program is housed in a modern facility adjacent to the Singapore General Hospital and maintains strong basic, translational, and clinical research partnerships throughout Singapore, including the National Neuroscience Institute, the Institute of Mental Health, and the Singapore Eye Research Centre.
