Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The International Relations Program (IRP) at the Graduate School of International Relations (GSIR) of the International University of Japan (IUJ) offers Master’s and PhD degrees in International Relations and a Master’s degree in Political Science. The IRP currently seeks applications for a tenure-track position (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level) to begin April 2027 or later.
Established in 1982, IUJ is a private graduate school in Minami Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. It is Japan’s first graduate school to offer its entire curriculum in English. Our student body is highly diverse, representing a wide range of nationalities and professional and academic backgrounds, with many students having served as public officials before joining our school. Work content and job description
The successful candidate will teach four eight-week courses in the Master’s program per academic year, distributed across the three terms (fall, winter, and spring), and may also teach a PhD course in the future. In addition, the candidate will supervise graduate research projects (Master’s thesis or research reports) and may serve on the PhD supervisory committee once eligible.
One overseas business trip per academic year may be required.
