The candidate is expected to establish a program of original, externally funded research (e.g., tri-council and partnership grants) and effectively supervise master’s and doctoral students in Kinesiology Sciences, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in applied exercise physiology and related areas, and actively engage in service that will contribute to the advancement of the DKPE, McGill University, and the broader scholarly community. The candidate will also make a significant contribution to the Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute (SASSI) at McGill University, which has a broad mandate to generate and disseminate research that will advance sports science, particularly as it relates to optimizing elite sport performance.
We are particularly interested in candidates whose research and teaching focus on an area which complements the existing areas of expertise within the DKPE. Broad areas of desirable expertise include, but are not limited to: neuromuscular or muscle physiology, healthy aging, or environmental exercise physiology, with attention to sex- and/or gender-based considerations.
