Tenured/Tenure-Track Faculty Position - Open Rank, Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) and Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) aim to develop a group of cutting-edge basic science researchers in Neuroscience, Cardiology, Oncology, and Orthopedics. HWCOM and BHSF seek applicants for various full-time, tenure or tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor within the Department of Cellular & Molecular Medicine.

We seek applicants with an excellent record of achievement and research excellence to join and collaborate with our interdisciplinary and interactive faculty and to perform basic and translational research in Neuroscience, Cardiology, Oncology, and Orthopedics, publish in major peer-reviewed journals, and maintain an independent, extramurally funded research program. Candidates are also expected to contribute to graduate and/or medical school education.

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral degree from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
• Must have current extramural funding (R01 level equivalent).
• Should have creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in epigenomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, genomics, or bioinformatics highly encouraged.
• Expertise in oncology, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, neurosciences, or orthopedics is highly encouraged.
