Term Faculty (Non-Tenure Track) - Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies (25-26)
The Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies B.A. Program (PAX) at DePaul University invites applications for a full-time position to begin September 2025. This is a term faculty, non-tenure-track position, with the possibility of renewal pending performance. A combination of daytime, asynchronous, and evening instruction is possible. Teaching assignments may include Liberal Studies courses such as First Year Program, Seminar on Race, Power and Resistance, Experiential Learning, and core PAX classes.
We seek candidates with a dedicated commitment to the discipline of Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies and relevant teaching experience. Preference will be given to a scholar activist with demonstrated knowledge in areas such as active nonviolence and resistance, disability justice and rights, conflict transformation, and liberatory and restorative practices. Teaching interests and experience may also include racial justice advocacy and activism history and practice across local and global contexts, reconciliation studies, social movement theory, nonviolent direct action strategies and tactics, international conflict/peace-building, and interpersonal/group conflict. Demonstrated teaching experience using peace pedagogies and critical approaches a plus, as well as an interest in facilitating original student research in the field of peace studies.
Applicants must have a Master's degree or terminal degree which may include a PhD, JD, MFA., or other relevant doctoral degree in an appropriately related field in hand by July 1, 2025.

About DePaul University's Academic Calendar: Except for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).
Salary Information: The salary range for this 10-month position is $53,400 - $60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
