Theatre Adjunct Instructor

Description

Teach assigned classes in keeping with approved syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.

Courses this position may teach include: Introduction to Theatre, Technical Design, Sound Design, Lighting Design, Costume Design, Special Topics, Stage Makeup, Acting Foundations, Directing, Theatre Practicum/Working on a Production, Directing Theatrical Productions on the College's Central Campus. Adjunct positions at JC are part-time teaching positions.

Essential Functions

Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments and papers. Prepare and deliver instructional materials (i.e. syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or on-line. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions. Compile, administer, and grade examinations. Participate in required reporting processes (i.e. grades, participation, etc.). Assist students in connecting to college resources.
