Three professor positions in biology at University of Montreal

Job Details

The Department of Biological Sciences at the Université de Montréal is seeking applications for three full-time tenure-track positions to develop innovative and internationally competitive research programs.

  • Assistant Professor of Global Change Biology
  • Assistant Professor of Plant Molecular Genetics
  • Professor of Biology in Environmental Endocrinology

Vibrant, multidisciplinary, and innovative, the Faculty of Arts and Science (FAS) is one of the largest faculties at the Université de Montréal. It offers 300 programs at all levels, some of which are unique in Quebec, spread across 28 departments, schools, centers, and an institute. It also hosts some 30 interdisciplinary research centers and groups. Every day, its 650 faculty members shape the world of tomorrow by breaking down barriers to knowledge and promoting the exchange of different perspectives.

The Department of Biological Sciences brings together research teams committed to training qualified scientists and responsible citizens by engaging in research to advance knowledge and promoting quality teaching. The Department is composed of experts working in a multidisciplinary context to understand all facets of life, whether animal, plant, or microbial, from molecules to ecosystems, and to promote a sustainable environment for future generations. The department's professors and researchers have access to high-quality facilities, including the Laurentian Biology Station, which allows for the planning of medium- and long-term field studies. Plant science specialists are affiliated with the Institute for Research in Plant Biology (IRBV), which benefits from a unique partnership with the Montreal Botanical Garden. Professors with expertise in environmental sciences will participate in the integration of biology training into the faculty program in Environment and Sustainable Development (ESD).

Successful candidates who would need to improve their French will be offered a free learning program through the university to facilitate their transition into the UdeM and Montréal communities.
