Job Description
The Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of
Missouri-St. Louis creates opportunities for the people of our

The Ticket Seller provides direct customer-focused guest services
to patrons of the facility while conducting retail operations
(selling tickets).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
[Customer Focus] – 30%
- Ensure that guests and patrons of the Touhill are met with
courteous and attentive service
Answer phones and respond to messages for ticketed events
within the Touhill
Provide information to customers about upcoming performances,
directions to the Touhill, and other general information
Communicate appropriate Touhill policies while maintaining a
welcoming and friendly demeanor
Fulfill the Touhill’s mission of being a “welcoming place”
[Sales Support] – 30%
- Process sales primarily by use of computer software programs,
including a computerized ticketing system.
- Process credit card payments and balance all transactions to
payment summary; may also process cash and check payments.
[Issues Response] – 25%
- Reconcile seating discrepancies and other ticketing
issues.
- Escalate more complicated problems to supervisor as
needed.
[Training] – 05%
- Completing University-mandated training as required.
- Completing Touhill-specific training (and/or Touhill
qualification(s)) as required.
As with all positions, may perform other job-related
responsibilities as needed to support departmental and campus-wide
needs.

Variable depending on event needs
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of experience from
which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is
necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional verbal and written communication
- Ability to work long and unusual hours, including late at
night
- Willingness to work hard and take direction
- Experience with House Management or front-of-house
operations
- An understanding of theatrical terminology, equipment, and
usages
- Good communication skills and customer service experience
Anticipated Hiring Range
$19.50-$25.50
