Trauma and Injury Prevention - Summer 2026 COACH Program
The opportunity
The College COACH summer internship is a paid program running from Monday, June 8-Friday, August 14, 2026. In addition to on-the-job training and work experience, the program includes workshops and additional development programs. College students will work 35 hours/week. Interns will earn $17.50-$21.50/hour.
This role is hybrid (3-4 days/week on-site) at 400 Brookline Avenue, Boston. Specific work hours will be determined by the supervisor.

- Gain knowledge of the Trauma and Injury Prevention Programs at BCH and how their systems function
- Gain training and knowledge of injury prevention and trauma topics
- Promote educational injury prevention materials
- Participate in outreach programs and community events with the Injury Prevention specialists
- Opportunity to collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the Trauma Center to work on projects is encouraged
- Attend a 2-day program orientation and onboarding
- Participate in virtual and in-person workshops and activities

Who you are
- You are an undergraduate college student in good academic standing and will be enrolled in a two-or four-year program for Fall 2026, and you are interested in working in healthcare
- A desire to promote and advocate for the prevention of injury in children
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in collaboration with members of the Trauma/Injury Prevention team
- Comfort interacting with and providing education for children and families about injury prevention.
- Flexible schedule to participate in community events
Recruitment process
- Internship opportunities: We encourage students to review the posted COACH internship opportunities and to apply to no more than three postings.

- Offer decision: We will follow up within one week of your interview. Decisions regarding program acceptance will be made in March.
- Onboarding: Those selected for the internship program will complete onboarding by May to ensure a smooth start to the program. This includes:
- Scheduling an appointment during one of our on-site onboarding days
- Obtaining appropriate work permits and documentation, as needed
- Health records
- Proof of Employment Eligibility
- Media release
The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
