Location
(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) This program is based in Paulding County, Dallas, GA.
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Provides tutoring, group discussions and mentorship to assigned students. Promotes educational aspiration and performance. Participates in all recreational and cultural activities. Assists academic staff in and outside of the classroom. Assists administrative staff with office support. Provides supervision while on campus and during recreational activities.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes educational aspiration and performance
- Builds relationships and collaborates with students
- Provides tutoring, group discussions and mentorship to assigned student population
- Assists academic staff in and out of the classroom
- Assists with department administrative and clerical support
- Provides supervision to assigned student population while on/off campus
- Participates in all off-campus recreational and cultural activities
- Assists in preparing high school students for college-level work
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
One (1) year of tutoring experience and/or experience mentoring high school students
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field or college sophomore (second year) classification
Preferred Experience
Experience with academic support programs, or similar programs for disadvantaged students
Proposed Salary
The budgeted pay rate for this position is $13.00 per hour. The anticipated program timeframe is May 25, 2026- July 13, 2026.

Ability to work autonomously and in team settings
Able to show sensitivity to and concern for all students
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Professional or personal experience required in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting Upward Bound students
Strong academic background
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
Available to work during Academic Year Component (August-May)
