Why your role matters

The UAC Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the University’s UAC admissions process across undergraduate domestic, undergraduate international, and postgraduate domestic programs, and for developing and implementing University policy relating to all aspects of UAC admissions. Working closely with the Manager, Admissions Operations (Undergraduate), the role ensures the effective processing of applications within the UAC system and compliance with all UAC rules and requirements.

The position also has responsibility for managing UAC publications, maintaining undergraduate admissions information on the UNSW corporate website, and delivering training to staff on UAC systems and policies.

Reporting to the Manager, Admissions Operations (Undergraduate), the UAC Team Leader leads and supports a team of up to four direct reports.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Provide operational leadership in relation to all aspects of UAC admissions, including undergraduate domestic, undergraduate international and postgraduate domestic UAC cohorts.
  • Ensure that the University complies with all UAC policies and procedures as well as other UNSW admission policies and procedures, government legislation and other statutory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and effective communication channels both internally and externally to the University to ensure the University recruits the highest potential applicants as possible.

About You:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in processing admissions via a tertiary admissions centre (preferably UAC).
  • Highly developed oral, interpersonal and written communications skills, including demonstrated experience in liaison at high-levels with a diverse range of people and organisations, internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to exercise initiative, to think strategically and to adopt an active approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement business improvement initiatives to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and assess information, including data gathering and compilation activities.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational/time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a leader of a work unit undertaking a range of diverse tasks.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

The role requires availability to work during the Christmas/New Year period and occasional weekends or after hours as required.
