We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Postdoctoral Researcher in Translational Gynecologic Oncology to join our growing research program. The position will be based in the research group of PD Dr. Damian Ralser, Tenure-Track Professor of Gynecologic Oncology, and provides a unique opportunity to take a key role in the development and establishment of a new translational gynecologic oncology research laboratory.
What We Offer
This position provides the opportunity to actively shape a new translational research program in gynecologic oncology from its inception and to develop an independent scientific profile within the group. The close integration of clinical gynecologic oncology and experimental research provides direct access to clinically relevant research questions and enables the development of true bench-to-bedside and bedside-to-bench projects. Our goal is to establish an internationally visible translational research program focusing on preclinical tumor models, drug testing, biomarker discovery and novel therapeutic strategies in gynecologic malignancies.
Job Duties
- Our research focuses on developing clinically relevant preclinical models and translating findings between the laboratory and clinical practice. Key responsibilities include:
- Establishment and development of preclinical tumor models for gynecologic malignancies
- Design and performance of preclinical drug-testing experiments
- Evaluation of novel therapeutic approaches and drug combinations
- Identification and validation of predictive and prognostic biomarkers
- Establishment and optimization of cellular and molecular biology techniques
- Translation of clinically relevant questions into experimental research projects
- Independent planning, execution and analysis of research projects
- Publication of research findings in international peer-reviewed journals
- Presentation of research at national and international scientific meetings
- Contribution to competitive grant applications and externally funded research projects
- Supervision and mentoring of students and doctoral researchers
Your Qualifications
- Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field such as molecular biology, cell biology, cancer biology, biomedical sciences, medicine or a related discipline
- Previous experience in experimental cancer research is highly desirable, particularly in cell culture, preclinical tumor models, drug testing and/or biomarker research. Experience with molecular biology techniques and translational research projects would be advantageous
- We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with intellectual curiosity, scientific independence and a strong interest in translational cancer research
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English are required (C2 level). Knowledge of German is preferred but not required
