Job description for ESL Teachers

• Job location: Wuhan, Hubei Province, China
• Teaching level: university students (ages 18-22):
• Weekly working load: 14 HOURS TEACHING + 2 HOURS foreign language corner,
• Class size: small group/30-40 students
• 45 minutes per teaching hour

Basic Requirements:

1. Native English speaker
2. Authentication of TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certificate in Chinese Embassy and Consulate or Notarization from the Embassy or Consulate of the country where you get the certificate in China: Or more than 2 years’ full-time ESL teaching experience and the recommendation letter
3. Authenticated Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree by Chinese Embassy if the degree is not issued in China
4. Providing official criminal record from local police station, public security department of the passport country or of the area
5. Below 60 years old
6. Healthy
7. Will work at our university for more than 6 months. (The contract term is 6 months or 1 year, and most will sign a one year contract.)
8. Need to live on campus during the period of the contract

Responsibilities

1. Planning and delivering lessons to undergraduates (ages 18-22)
2. Using electronic media and courseware to teach English efficiently and effectively
3. Evaluating student progress and providing ongoing guidance for improvement
4. 640 hours for one year’s workload and 320 hours for half a year’s workload. 16 teaching hours per week (including 2 teaching hours of foreign language corner per week). Each class lasts for 45 minutes
5. Abiding by the arrangement from international office and school
6. Participating in social activities organized by university and government

This is what we can provide for you:

• Monthly salary: RMB 8700-9000 (before tax) for Bachelor’s, 10,000-10,300 for Master’s degree.
• Medical insurance: public health services at designated hospitals.
• We provide an apartment with furniture, bed and bedding, television, internet, refrigerator, bathroom, kitchen and air conditioning. In addition, there will be free water, internet and electricity. You will live alone
• Airplane ticket allowance: RMB 11000-16000 per year before tax (paid upon contract completion and paid RMB 5500-8000RMB before tax half a year) Travel allowance : RMB 4000 per year before tax.
• Free breakfast and lunch from Monday to Friday during the semester
