state of Utah.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Evidence of potential for teaching excellence in a variety of
subject areas in undergraduate social work curricula (experience
teaching in a classroom in a CSWE-accredited social work department
preferred);
- A commitment to excellence in scholarship, teaching, advising,

- The ability to work in a collegial manner with social work
faculty members and faculty from other disciplines across
campus.
- Teaching and practice experience with Latinx clients,
communities, and/or organizations is highly valued.

Weber State University, a part of the Utah Higher Education system,
is located in Ogden, Utah in the northern part of the State at the
foot of the Wasatch Mountains. The Master of Social Work (MSW)
Program is part of the Department of Social Work and Gerontology
and is housed in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The
undergraduate social work program has been accredited by the
Council on Social Work Education since 1974. The MSW program uses a
harm reduction framework and focuses on the development of advanced
clinical social work practice skills, giving particular attention
to local and regional needs. The MSW program is new and evolving,
has a small but dynamic faculty, and serves a student body from a
variety of backgrounds.
Physical Activity of this position: Expressing or exchanging
ideas. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or
important instructions to other workers accurately or quickly. ,
Ability to receive detailed information with or without
assistance.
Physical Requirements of this position: Light work. Exerting
up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force
frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move
objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater
than that for sedentary work.
Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and
field of vision: Required to perform activities such as
preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a
computer terminal; extensive reading.
