University Lecturer (1.0 FTE) - Marketing, Strategy, Finance or Entrepreneurship (2x)
Job Summary
The University of Leiden is seeking two university lecturers specialized in Marketing, Strategy, Finance, or Entrepreneurship. These roles involve contributing to research, innovative education, and societal impact, with opportunities for publishing at a high level while maintaining a balance between work and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Teach and develop courses for bachelor and master students in business administration areas such as strategy, marketing, finance, or entrepreneurship, incorporating personal expertise and current topics like sustainability, analytics, or technology.
- Deliver lectures independently or in teams, with a focus on empirical research, methodology, and the societal relevance of business issues in master programs.
- Supervise students in writing their master theses and contribute to an inspiring learning environment.
- Develop an independent research line in marketing, strategy, finance, or entrepreneurship, preferably linked to societal issues.
- Publish in international peer-reviewed journals and enhance the department's national and international visibility.
- Build academic and professional networks, participate in international conferences, and collaborate across disciplines.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A completed and approved PhD in a relevant field of social sciences, such as business administration, organizational sciences, psychology, or economics.
- Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods and techniques.
- Ability to identify opportunities for a personal research line related to societal issues.
- An interdisciplinary attitude and willingness to collaborate with team members, such as jurists or researchers from other faculties.
- Interest in disseminating research to bridge gaps between research and policy.
- Excellent command of Dutch and good knowledge of English, as teaching is primarily in Dutch with some parts in English.
- Possession of the Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO) certificate or willingness to obtain it within two years.
What the Employer Offers
- A one-year employment contract with prospects for permanence, under the Dutch Universities collective labor agreement.
- A salary range of €4,537 to €6,209 gross per month for a full-time position (38 hours per week), scale 11.
- 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% end-of-year bonus, and an attractive pension scheme with ABP.
