University Lecturer in Constitutional and Administrative Law (1 fte)
Job Summary
The Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law at Leiden University is seeking a full-time University Lecturer to strengthen teaching and research within the department.
Responsibilities
- Provide, develop, and coordinate teaching for bachelor and master students.
- Supervise junior teachers in education.
- Guide bachelor and master theses.
- Develop and strengthen a personal research line aligned with existing departmental research.
- Publish research with attention to its impact.
- Generate funding for personal and collective research.
- Collaborate in academic and professional networks and participate in international conferences.
- Undertake light administrative tasks, such as committee memberships.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A completed and approved PhD in constitutional and administrative law.
- Enthusiastic teaching skills with good communication and didactic abilities.
- Ability to teach a broad range of administrative law subjects or a combination of constitutional and administrative law subjects.
- Research qualities, experience, and ideas demonstrated through innovative scientific publications.
- Ability to conduct independent research and teaching while being a team player.
- Demonstrated aptitude for organization.
- Excellent command of Dutch and good knowledge of English in speech and writing.
- Possession of the Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO) certificate or willingness to obtain it within two years.
- Interest in specified areas such as constitutional culture, digital administrative law, etc., or complementary expertise like immigration law.
